Looking forward to an exciting year 2012. Together with Limitless Media Productions, we created a new Logo!
Keep an eye on this one!
Capetown Summer Times.
Time is flying out here in South Africa. Training goes very well and I'm having a amazing summer here.
Spending a lot of time on the water with my mates and riding in different conditions pretty much every day makes Capetown to one of my favourite spots at this time of the year. Some new videos are going to come out during the next month. We already got some pretty sick shots all around Capetown.
Don't miss the pics, shot during a session a few days ago!
cheers!

Supa Nova - The Barra Nova Edit 2011!
I got to spend quite some time in Barra Nova/Brazil this season. This spot is just sick. After the PKRA in Natal in September, I spent another 3 weeks together with my german mates Nils Wesch and Mario Rodwald in Brazil.
This is the edit we actually made for Stance and their dvd. Unfortunately the dvd got cancelled and we've put it online now.
The video shows a big progression of everyone of us and it was a good time riding together.

PKRA Brazil
One week after i got back home from Germany, I was off to Brazil for the 6th tourstop of the PKRA World Tour in Natal/Barra do Cunhau.
We started the trials on the first day and I was pretty happy with my performance. Once again I was up against 2009 World Champ Kevin Langeree. After a really sick heat i was quite sure that I could advance over Kevin. Unfortunately the judges decided the other way around. I won my next Heat against Nils Wesch and advanced in the main event.
In the Single Elimination, I made into the heat for 9th place. I had to face Marc Jacobs (NZL) who was riding well. It was a close heat, but Marc kicked me out.
After the Single's there was a day off for me, as they where running the finals. Freeriding this day felt awesome. I landed some sick tricks like a 317 and some good BJ 5's. So the motivation for the Double Elimination was on max!
On the 4th day of competition we started the Double's and after a really good time on the water the day before, I felt pretty good!
My first heat was against Christophe Tack (BEL). I think we both had a bad heat, crashing a lot! Christophe made a better impression on the judges and took the win. So I ended up on the 17th place.
That wasn't the result I expectet but there will be better times and more luck in upcoming competitions.

13th place PKRA Germany
Just came back from the 5th tourstop of the PKRA World Tour in Germany/St. Peter Ording. Within the 10 days of competition we probably had all different conditions you can get on this place. Offshore wind with flatwater, onshore with big waves, rain and sun!
About 60 riders registered for Freestyle, that made this event pretty hard. It was super hard to get through the trials. There where a lot of good riders from Germany, Netherlands and Poland who all wanted to get into the main event.
In the Trials I could show some really good heats and i passed them what made me pretty happy already.
After a few days without wind we finally started the single elimination. I made it into the secound round by winning against my team mate Thomas Paris before I got kicked out by domenican rider Robinson Hilario. After the single elimination i was ranked 13th.
Right after the Finals we went straight into the double elimination. The conditions changed and we got onshore wind with a lot of choppy water and rain.
My first heat was against Jerrie van de Kop who was riding good like always. I managed to land a well powered frontblind mobe, s-bend 3 and some switch tricks. That made me advancing into the next round.
In the second round I had to go against Kevin Langeree who was on his comeback after his injury last year. My heat didn't start as good as I wanted. Crashed some basics in the beginning. By the end I could land some really good tricks like a Blindjudge 5 and a double s-bend blind. Unfortunately that wasn't enough to beat Kevin.
I am quite happy with the 13th place and my performance although a rank in the Top 10 would have been the goal.
Now it's time for some trainig again before the last competitions of this season will be on.

KTE Italy/Lamezia 5th place
Right after the competition ended on Sylt the next Event of the european championchips took place in the south of Italy/Lamezia.
The wind was pretty light during the whole week, so I was on my 14m Kite almost the whole time.
It took a while till we could finish the first 2 rounds of the single elimination. In my first heat I was up against Luke Whiteside (UK) once again. I could show some good, powered tricks and managed to win.
The next one was against Mario Rodwald (GER). Just the same like on Sylt the week before. Mario was riding good, as always. He took the win and kicked me out of the singles.
Unlucky, the wind wasn't good enough to start the double elimination. So my final result was a 5th place.
A 4th place on Sylt and the 5th from Italy put me on the 4th place in the overall ranking of the european championchips, only 1 point behind the 3rd place. So I'll definately fight for this one to get on the podium in the overall ranking!

4th place Kitesurftour Europe Sylt/Germany.
The first tourstop of the KTE 2011 just finished on Sylt/Germany. The conditions have been pretty tough for the whole week. The wind was full on up to 30 knots and waves about 2m.
The single elimination didn't start too good for me. I lost my secound heat against Mario Rodwald from Germany and ended up on the 5th place.
On the next day we went straight into the double elimination and the conditions got a little better. My first heat was against Bram Bast from the Netherlands. I managed to advance in this head. After this one I felt quite comfortable with my riding and I could win the next 3 heats as well.
After winning 4 exhausting heats I had to go against Seb Garat (France) for the 3rd place. Seb was riding good and I lost this heat.
So I ended up with a 4th place in this event! Pretty happy about it.
Now it's time to relax a little bit until the next KTE tourstop in Italy kicks off on Wednesday this week. Looking forword to ride in some normal conditions again ;)
Thanks a lot to Nils Wesch and family for the stop-over at their place until we all leave to Italy!
Stay tuned!
cheers,
Stefan

Yea, it's out! My profile for the season 2011. The video was shot in Cape Town, I think the location speaks for itself!

PKRA Thailand / Hua Hin
Well, things do not always go as you expect.
After returning home from Cape Town, I spent two weeks in Austria to relax and get full on motivated again. Finally it was time to fly out to Thailand Hua Hin where the first tourstop of the PKRA World Tour took place.
The conditions were pretty tricky. After two days without wind, the usual thermal wind showed up and we had good conditions for the trials. As the PKRA changed the format a bit, it got quite hard to get into the main event. Just the top 8 guys of the world ranking are set in the main event. Everyone else has to do the trials.
I could show some good tricks during the first heat, so I made it straight to the main event to compete with the best 20 riders of the world. Started up pretty good for me.
Unfortunately I hade to face the domenican rider Alex Soto in my first heat and I got kicked out early. The luck didn't show up at all this time. So I was against Andy Yates in the doubles and I wasn't happy about my performance at all. Thats competition.
Anyway, now I am back home for 2 days. The next PKRA event is gonna be in Dakhla/Marokko and I am really lookin' forword to it. Before it starts I gonna be there training for one week. I'll keep you up to date how it goes!

Cape Town & New Sponsor!
I grabbed up a preety cool new Sponsor. INKOSPORT is supporting me from now on with their products for sports and training. A lot of people dont know how important it is to keep your body in a good shape. Especially for Kitesurfing it is necessary to go to the gym and train a lot to prevent injurys. With INKO I have the best products for my training and to give my body everything it needs!
check out www.inko.de !
Meanwhile, I am in Cape Town since almost 2 weeks. It's been great so far. The first week we got some really good freestyle days, which i really needed to get used to the cold water and the strong wind again.
After that we had one week testing together with the whole North Kiteboarding Crew. We got a lot of new stuff to try and it was pretty intense. We also filmed a lot for the upcoming NKB Product and Action Videos! There is some cool stuff to come!
Now I'm full on training again, to get in a good shape for the first competition of the season. PKRA in Thailand is on!
Stay tuned for the upcoming Videos and Pics from Cape Town/South Africa!

Brazil - Austria. Back home.
After a long travel I finally made it and I'm back home. Brazil was awesome.
The last days were pretty busy. We did a lot of photoshoots and filmed a lot too! There are a few exciting things to come during the next weeks. Brazil PartTwo should be ready very soon and there will also be a pretty sick video I made together with team-mate Thomas Paris and a few other guys. It's going to be BIG! :)
Now I am chillin at home for some time and sorting my whole stuff a bit. Is quite necessary after travelling 3 months.
Planning the next Trip already. Seems like it starts around the 20th of January. :)

North Kiteboarding International Team!
I am pretty stoked about this one.. NKB International! :)
It wasn't very easy for me during the season 2010. My shoulder made me quite a lot of troubles during the competition season. Dislocated two times.. That took me out of kiting for quite a long time.
All in all, it was my best year so far, I could improve a lot and had as much fun as never before during all my travelling!
Check out my new rider-profile on: http://www.northkites.com/public/content/team/international/stefan_spiessberger/index_ger.html
North Kiteboarding rocks! ;)

Shooting in the south.
The time is running fast. Almost too fast. I'm already here for 1,5 months now and i can say, the hard work is paying off. I've been kiting a lot the last couple of weeks. My doubles are getting quite constant and I am able to do more and more switch tricks.
At the moment I am here at Prokitebrasil in Uruau, south of Fortaleza. It's a very nice spot with a little lagoon right in front of the station. The conditions are awesome. Not crowded at all and very constant wind. Just perfect for my training.
Right now we are also shooting for the next part of my video-blog. Brazil PartTwo is going to be online in about two weeks. So stay tuned for some action at one of the best spots in Brazil.

Brazil PartOne - Online now!!
Check out the first vid of my online video blog from Brazil! The last weeks have been amazing for me. Super good conditions at the lagoons helped me a lot to progress my kiting!

Brasil - Week 1
After a long travel I arrived in Cumbuco a week ago. Riding in the lagoon almost every day is pretty sick! Just awesome to ride with all the guys here. Youri, Alex Pastor and the girls Gisela, Bruna and Karolina are killin' it. Just the best motivation you can get.
At the moment I am trying to get my latest tricks on tape to edit the first part of a new video. I am stoked about my riding after one week here. The doubles are on! ;)
We also had a pretty good photo shooting with Youri! He took some nice pics. Check the one below!
Stay tuned for some more updates, pics and a new video in the next weeks!
cheers.

Interview with RedBull
Just had a nice Interview with Redbull! We will make a little travel story about my upcoming training in Brazil. So stay tuned on redbull.at for some more action!
Movie Egypt '10
Here it is! I tried to work on my style a bit and specially focused on the doubles.. finally it looks pretty good I think ;)
enjoy!
Egypt.
Almost 4 weeks of perfect training in El Gouna at the Mövenpick Kitestation are over now. Unbelievable how i could improve my riding. So everything works pretty good at the moment! On top of it, the new Kites and Boards are as good as never before! Vegas rocks! Soo stoked!
Right now I am shooting together with my buddy Hendrik from Belgium for a new edit. He was very unlucky and broke his finger after 3 days of shredding the lagoon. So get well soon man!
Coming up next, the final tourstop of the Kitesurftour Europe in Poland. Really looking forword to it!
Take care and enjoy your sessions!

Northern Freestyle!
Check out the final edit of our roadtrip through Denmark! Awesome time up in the north!
Denmark, Sylt and Switzerland.. Update!
Finally, after hard studing the last years, I passed my last exams in school! Yeah, I did it! :)
Right after it, I started an awesome roadtrip to Denmark, discovering some of the best flatwaterspots together with Mario Rodwald and Tom Schüller. Nick de Bruijn, a photographer from Holland, attended us the whole week. We've been shooting for a nice video quite a lot! Should be ready within the next days!
After Denmark and a relaxing day at Mario's place we drove on to Sylt for the 3rd tourstop of the Kitesurftour Europe. The event was pretty good.. Unlucky we didn't get any wind for Freestyle but the patys have been awesome! :)
From Sylt, the whole Kitetour travelled further to Switzerland, lake Silvaplana. We didn't expect to get really good conditions there.. But we where able to finish the single elimination. The wind started slowly, like usual on thermical spots. Unlucky, I lost in the secound round against Stefano Martinelli from Italy, who was riding really good in the light wind conditions. I ended up with a 9th place.
Currently, I'm ranked 10th in the overall freestyle, but there's one more event coming up in Poland. And I gonna train my ass up to get back under the Top 5 in the last tourstop!
Check back for the movie from the roadtrip through Denmark. It's gonna be a sick one! ;)
peace. Stef

New Video! Spring Session Season 2.
Check out my new edit of some nice training sessions at home!
4th place Podersdorf!
A 4th place in Freestyle completed an awesome weekend at Podersdorf. The first stop of the new Kitesurftour Europe was a great event with good, but very hard conditions, and lots of fun. Thousends of spectators joined us during the weekend and we had a pretty good competition.
Alberto Rondina won the freestyle discipline in front of Michael Schitzhofer and Mario Rodwald. I'm pretty happy about my result, which gives me a good motivation for the upcoming events!
so stay tuned and enjoy your days on the wather! Spring is in ;)

Trainig days and school.
The last few weeks i was travelling through austria quite a lot. I had a few pretty good sessions to try out some new tricks on bindings, what makes me quite happy! The perfect combination of the north team series board with my new ronix one bindings really helps me to go for powered tricks and wakestyle. stoked !
At the same time, I'm attending school all the time. The last big exams are coming up what brings a lot of studying with it. Just two more month and everything will be done. hopefully
The competition season will start in 4 weeks with the first tourstop of the Europeen Tour at Podersdorf. I'm really looking forword to it!
stay tuned!
Stef

LowMobe.
Take a look at the sequence below! The Lowmobe, one of the tricks I'm really enjoying at the moment. ;)

Egypt
Finally I'm back home after two weeks training at Hamata. Thanks a lot to Kite-Village for the great support! The wind wasn't as good as expected but I still got some good sessions on the wather and also some nice shots. Check them out in the gallery!
Now I'm back at school again and working hard for it. Actually i am trying to manage another training week as soon as possible before the early season will start. I'll keep you up to date..
peace
Stef

Back in the game !
First of all, a big thanks for the great statements about my new homepage! Feelin proud ;)
Too bad that i had to cancel my trip to Brazil because of a bad crash on my first day skiing up in the mountains. After an operation at my shoulder, hard training and physiotherapy were dominating my every day life. The recovery went a lot better than expected and now, 2 month after getting out of the hospital, I'm feeling better than ever before. Big, big thanks to my doctor and especially to Leo and Nici from Physio Park at Ebensee!
Now I'm looking forword to my upcoming trip to the south of Egypt, starting on Monday. Can't wait to be back on the wather. I'll keep you up to date with pics and storys as good as the internet possibilities in Egypt will allow it! ;)
stay tuned!
